Monique Morssinkhof is born and raised in Limburg, the most southern province of the Netherlands. Limburg, farthest removed from the Northsea to which The Netherlands owes much of its reputation, this province is historically catholic where the north of country was protestant. It has strong French influences on its cuisine and and is proud to identify itself as being different from the north. Northerners stick out like a sore thumb speaking with their harsh 'G's and 'R's where the Limburgers are soft and smooth spoken like their Belgian neighbours on the west.
